More than four centuries' history
today
Today the Navicelli Channel measures 17 km in length, 33 meters in width and 3 meters in depth: it is used by shipyards, located on its banks, for launching new boats and to make access for boats needing maintenance and refitting works.

The Navicelli Channel construction works began in 1560 and were completed between 1575 and 1576: the channel total length was 22 km, with a width of 18 meters and a depth of 1.50 meters..
